Moon Walker: Advanced

The Moon's surface is marked by craters and debris resulting from various impacts. Despite what we know, there are still unanswered questions, and the most thrilling lunar discoveries could come from future missions to the Moon and Mars. This course, set in 2030, is an extension of our quest to unravel the secrets of the Moon.

The course consists of 12 sessions and is offered in English. 

​

Each session would be of 10-12 minutes and classes can be completed anytime over the specified week.

The First Man On The Moon

This module would be covered in a week and is divided into four modules:
 

  • Apollo Program
    Starting with Neil Armstrong’s famous first steps, several astronauts explored the lunar surface and left experiments there for us to improve our knowledge. Let us find out this in detail.
     

  • Space Station Work
    You are part of the crew on a spaceship destined for the moon. Your original mission plan was to land near a mother ship but on the way, mechanical issues force you to crashland. How will you survive?
     

  • Small Steps On The Lunar Surface
    Over half a century ago, humans walked on the Moon for the first time. In this module, we look back at the legacy of our first small steps on the Moon and look forward to the next giant leap.
     

  • Mission Readiness Test
    You saw the iconic footprint on the lunar surface. How much do you know about the Apollo program and the other lunar landings? Let us put your knowledge to the test and find out.

Living On The Moon

This module would be covered in a week and is divided into four modules:
 

  • Apollo 13
    Apollo 13 was supposed to land in the Fra Mauro area on the surface of the Moon. An explosion on board forced Apollo 13 to circle the moon without landing. Let us find out this in detail.
     

  • Space Station Work
    You are part of the crew on a spaceship destined for the moon. Your original mission plan was to land near a mother ship but on the way, mechanical issues force you to crashland. How will you survive?
     

  • Apollo 13
    Apollo 13 astronauts never made it to the lunar surface. This module will further explore the dramatic sequence of events and how the astronauts made their way back to Earth.
     

  • Colors of the Moon
    What color is the Moon? Viewed from inside the Earth's atmosphere, though, the moon can appear quite different. Here, we explore and discuss the various colors of the moon in detail.

Back To The Moon

This module would be covered in a week and is divided into four modules:
 

  • Moons In The Solar System
    There are over 200 known moons out there, spinning around the celestial bodies of our Solar System. In this module, you will be picking out your favorites and describe them in detail.
     

  • Mission Readiness Test
    Let's test your knowledge about the Apollo missions to see how much you know about them, especially since you witnessed the "successful failure" of the Apollo 13 mission.
     

  • Living On The Moon
    If we want to get to the heart of the Moon’s mysteries and if we want to reach out into the rest of the Solar System and the wider Universe, we need a Moon base. Let us explore what all we need on that base.
     

  • Going Back To The Moon
    Humanity is going to the Moon with commercial and international partners to explore faster and explore more together. Join us as we discuss in detail what Moon has in store for us grab.

Srijan Pal Singh
India's #1 Science Author and Former Advisor to Dr. Kalam

Srijan Pal Singh is an author, education innovator, futurist and social entrepreneur. He studied in La Martiniere College and then completed his Engineering and further went to the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to study management. He was awarded the Gold Medal for the Best All-rounder Student of the 2009 batch at IIM-A and was also the President of the Student’s Council there.​

 

He served as Officer on Special Duty and Advisor (Technology and Policy) at the Office of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam where he worked as a close aide to the former president on various consulting works. Some of the projects include Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA), Kalam-NSS, USA Initiative for Space-based Solar Power,  Projects on Koodanakulum Nuclear Plant, Neutrinos, Development Plans for various governments across India, Russia, Maldives, Canada and UAE.

He has interacted with leading institutions of the world for addresses/research and delegate visits including, FermiLab (Chicago), UKCA Yorkshire, CERN (Switzerland), Boulby Underground Dark Matter Laboratory, Harvard University (USA), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Boston University, Kentucky University, Sydney University, University of Edinburgh, St Gallen's University (Switzerland), Beijing University, HBS, DRDO, BrahMos Missile Project, Toyota Motors (Georgetown), George Washington University, Mahindra, NITI Aayog, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and many other leading institutions across the world. He has been a host to several Nobel Laureates and Astronauts in his shows.
