Ignited Minds Olympiad offers a unique opportunity for young minds to explore and understand the concept of sustainable development. This innovative competition, conducted in collaboration with leading organizations, aims to foster creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of the challenges and solutions related to sustainable development goals.

 

Participants of the Ignited Minds Olympiad will have the chance to delve into various aspects of sustainable development, including environmental conservation, social equality, economic growth, and technological advancements.

The top performers of the Ignited Minds Olympiad will be rewarded with the first prize—a mesmerizing all-expenses-paid visit to the Natural History Museum, London. This incredible opportunity allows the winners to embark on a mesmerizing journey through the wonders of natural history.

What is Ignited Minds Olympiad?

Ignited Minds Olympiad features three categories based on age: Sub-junior (Class 2-5), Junior (Class 6-8), and Senior (Class 9-12). This division ensures that participants compete with peers of similar age and academic levels, creating a fair and engaging environment for all.

The competition comprises three challenging levels that will test your understanding, problem-solving abilities, and creativity. Each level presents unique tasks and questions that explore various aspects of sustainable development, pushing you to think critically and out-of-the-box.

Process and Rounds

Ignited Minds Olympiad provides a remarkable platform for students aged 8 to 18 years to demonstrate their exceptional abilities and passion for scientific exploration. The primary goal of this event is to identify and nurture the budding talents of future scientists and technologists at the school level.

Round 1

Level 1

October 23, 2023 to November 21, 2023

  • In the Brain Marathon participants will be tested on their knowledge and logical reasoning skills.

  • This level consists of a total of 100 multiple-choice questions, which must be answered within a time duration of 60 minutes.

  • The Brain Marathon is divided into three sections to ensure comprehensive coverage of relevant topics and sub-topics.

    • Section 1: Logical Reasoning
      This section tests the participant's ability to think critically and logically. It aims to evaluate their problem-solving skills and their ability to identify patterns and relationships between different concepts.

    • Section 2: SDG Section
      This section covers all the relevant topics and sub-topics related to science. Participants will be tested on their understanding of concepts related to environment and sustainable development.

    • Section 3: Achiever's Section
      This section contains Higher Order Thinking Questions that require the participants to apply their knowledge and reasoning skills to solve complex problems. 

Round 2

  • In the Future Scavenger Hunt, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge and reasoning skills in a more challenging environment.

  • This level is reserved for the top-performing participants from each category in the Brain Marathon.

  • It consists of a total of 100 multiple-choice questions that must be answered within a time duration of 60 minutes.

  • The syllabus for Future Scavenger Hunt is exactly the same as Brain Marathon, but the difficulty level is higher than the previous level.

  • The Future Scavenger Hunt is divided into two sections to ensure comprehensive coverage of relevant topics and sub-topics.

    • Section 1: Science Section
      This section covers all the relevant topics and sub-topics related to science. 

    • Section 2: Achiever's Section
      The questions in this section are designed to test the participant's ability to think creatively and critically. Participants will be required to apply their understanding of concepts to real-world scenarios and think beyond the traditional approach.

Curious Conversations

Level 3

  • In the third and final level of Ignited Minds Olympiad, the Curious Conversation, the top 50 participants from the Brain Marathon and Future Scavenger Hunt will have the opportunity to interact with some of the most renowned scientists, academicians, and researchers across the nation.

  • This level is designed to provide participants with a unique opportunity to gain insights into the world of science and technology and to learn from some of the brightest minds in the country.

  • The Curious Conversation is an interview round, where participants will be asked a series of questions related to their field of interest.

  • The interviews will be conducted by top scientists from various fields.

  • In addition to the valuable learning experience, top participants of Ignited Minds Olympiad will have the opportunity to win exciting prizes.

  • The top performers of Ignited Minds Olympiad will be rewarded with the first prize—an all-expenses-paid visit to the National Museum of Mathematics in New York or the Museum of the Future in Dubai or the National Science Centre in New Delhi.

Srijan Pal Singh
India's #1 Science Author and Former Advisor to Dr. Kalam

Srijan Pal Singh is an author, education innovator, futurist and social entrepreneur. He studied in La Martiniere College and then completed his Engineering and further went to the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad to study management. He was awarded the Gold Medal for the Best All-rounder Student of the 2009 batch at IIM-A and was also the President of the Student’s Council there.​

 

He served as Officer on Special Duty and Advisor (Technology and Policy) at the Office of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam where he worked as a close aide to the former president on various consulting works. Some of the projects include Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA), Kalam-NSS, USA Initiative for Space-based Solar Power,  Projects on Koodanakulum Nuclear Plant, Neutrinos, Development Plans for various governments across India, Russia, Maldives, Canada and UAE.

He has interacted with leading institutions of the world for addresses/research and delegate visits including, FermiLab (Chicago), UKCA Yorkshire, CERN (Switzerland), Boulby Underground Dark Matter Laboratory, Harvard University (USA), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Boston University, Kentucky University, Sydney University, University of Edinburgh, St Gallen's University (Switzerland), Beijing University, HBS, DRDO, BrahMos Missile Project, Toyota Motors (Georgetown), George Washington University, Mahindra, NITI Aayog, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta and many other leading institutions across the world. He has been a host to several Nobel Laureates and Astronauts in his shows.
